He has more than 25 years of experience in the preparation and coordination of projects in FP7, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, as well as national and regional projects.

He has developed his career in companies that transform rubber, thermoplastic polymers and EVA foams related to the footwear sector. In 2003 he began working at CETEC as a project technician, participating in expanding the Center to the plastics sector.

Degree in Biotechnology f and a MS in Biotechnology applied to Health and Sustainability. He is a specialist in the synthesis of biopolymers from bacteria and archaea. He is currently pursuing a PhD in the production of polyhydroxyalkanoates.

Alejandro has 30 years of experience in different positions related to the environment, energy, biotechnology, sustainable management and circular economy, as well as in the coordination and preparation of European, national and regional projects. He is a specialist in industrial sustainability, process and product optimisation, waste recovery, sustainable components and materials, product certification, and implementing circular economy models in the footwear and plastics sectors.

He works in the biotechnology department of CETEC as a specialist in synthesising biopolymers from microorganisms and is currently doing a PhD in producing polyhydroxyalkanoates from different waste sources using halophilic microorganisms as cell factories to achieve a circular economy.
