Safe and sustainable plastics materials development
CETEC is committed to the development of safe and sustainable materials through specific research lines:
- Circular-by-design of plastics formulations and compounds allowing for their reuse and recycling, including composting in the case of biodegradable biopolymers.
- Safe and sustainable-by-design of plastics formulation compounds and products.
- Development of bioplastics materials from renewable sources and development of bioplastics formulations based on biopolymers and natural additives.
- Modification of biodegradation properties of biopolymers by formulation.
- Research into biodegradable and compostable materials.
- Sustainable extraction processes for the extraction of polyhydroxyalkanoates.
- Efficient alternatives for rubber recycling.
